Indie/Rock Tracks of the Day

Because they are actually unique, Bear In Heaven sometimes feels out of place in the current indie rock landscape. Good thing they still make songs like “Sinful Nature,” which has become something of an underground summer jam and keeps getting revisited by eager remixers. Here, we have one from When Saints Go Machine that drops the original into a murky, downtrodden abyss that still emits enough magic to get by.

Montreal trio Parlovr has a sweet little depressive nugget here in “You Only Want It ‘Cause You’re Lonely.” A cut off the band’s Kook Soul LP, the song alternates between sun harmony torch music with treble guitar dots and a near-explosive chorus that’s as resolute as it is poppy.

The Traveling Wilburys, they are not: Divine Fits is a supergroup comprising hip dudes Britt Daniel (Spoon), Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs) and Sam Brown (New Bomb Turks). Their first album, A Thing Called Divine Fits, is out August 28 on Merge and the lead track, “My Love Is Real,” is a Boeckner-crooned coaster. Its crackling synths and cool-as-a-cucumber vocals make it a sonic sister to a Handsome Furs tune – welcome news for fans of the group that recently hung up its cleats

Frank Ocean’s- Pyramids

lifeordeathpr:

Check out the brand new track by Frank Ocean; “Pyramids” named Pitchforks Best New Track, “Pyramids” is featured on Frank Ocean’s soon to be released new album ‘Channel Orange’ out July 17th on Def Jam.

Of Monsters And Men out playing “Mountain Sound” in the sun. Makes me wish it wasn’t so cloudy and rainy here in New York.

Did anyone else originally think that the name “Of Monsters And Men” sounded like some early 00’s screamo/emo band name? No, just me? Alrightttt.

New video from Beach House for “Lazuli”.
